Other Chris LeJeune Watch

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

I didn’t expect to be making another update so soon after the last, but I just got a phone call from Raleigh, NC. A woman who went to middle school with the other Chris LeJeune was trying to regain contact with him.

She made a cold call at 11:22 on a week night. Is this the sort of company he keeps?

Hagel Brings the Patriotism

Wednesday, January 24th, 2007

Today the Senate Foreign Relations Committee approved a resolution denouncing the White House’s plan to escalate the war in Iraq by sending in 21,500 more troops. One of my favorite senators to watch, since the war began, has been Chuck Hagel, the senior Republican from Nebraska. Since 2003, he has been a steady voice of realism where Iraq has been involved.

Today he called out his colleagues for playing politics with the war. Think Progress has the video from C-Span 3 (or “the Trinity,” as C-Span fans like to call it).

Money quote:

When I hear, on both sides of this argument, impugning motives and patriotism to our country, not only is it offensive and disgusting but it debases the whole system of our country and who we are.

My goodness. Can’t we debate the most critical issue of our time, out front, in front of the American people?

They expect it.

Other Chris LeJeune Watch

Friday, January 19th, 2007

The other Chris LeJeune’s former employer called me yesterday.  Apparently, he used to work at Dynomach, Inc. with James and Kenny.  There was no harm done this time.  But for some reason James called and then told me he was going to hand the phone to Kenny because Kenny wanted to speak to me.  I never did find out why Kenny wasn’t able to dial the phone himself.  But considering that Dynomach is in the Industrial Machinery business, I can only speculate that some work-related injury may have prevented Kenny from dialing the phone.  If I had to speculate even further, I wouldn’t put it past the other Chris LeJeune to have left the safety off on some finger-cleaving piece of machinery that James and Kenny work with at Dynomach.

In other Chris LeJeune news, I’ve never had any problems out of this guy.
